What Would Goethe Say?
Writing Contest on Power, Resistance and Justice

A Global Call for Writers – Prize up to $1,000,000

As part of the NoMoreSilence project, following previous public actions, we introduce the Grand Writing Competition: What Would Goethe Say? (WWGS?). This unique writing contest invites writers from around the world to engage intellectually with one of the most striking ethical dilemmas of modern Europe: a large EU country** that continues to hold unlawfully acquired funds in its state budget and even uses those funds to influence U.S. market and citizens.

We challenge writers to channel their analytical depth, philosophical reasoning, and literary creativity to explore this issue. The competition is particularly expected to resonate with admirers of Goethe, who may find inspiration in his intellectual legacy to construct statements, insights, or judgments he might have offered if confronted with such a moral paradox today.

Participants will not merely analyze the actions of this state but will attempt to capture the voice of Goethe—his sharp wit, moral clarity, and unyielding pursuit of truth—to articulate what he might say about a country that justifies the retention of unlawfully obtained funds.

A Public Intellectual Debate
This competition is the next phase in an expanding public intellectual confrontation that seeks to analyze, reveal, and challenge the deeper implications of this case. Based on carefully documented facts and supported by the initiator’s years-long correspondence with key institutions, writings will serve as intellectual tools during the upcoming Public Tribunal, strengthening, challenging and making clearer the ethical core of the NoMoreSilence project. The best submissions will be published in a dedicated book alongside artistic illustrations, reviving the role of serious writing as a force for justice.

Platform & Participation
WWGS? will take place on the same innovative platform used for the first writing competition. The Grand Writing Competition webpage will be available only after the first writing competition has been completed.
